La visite de la vieille dame

Güllen’s banks have been mysteriously emptied for decades. The inhabitants are on the verge of collapse when the wealthy Claire Zachanassian decides to return to her native village to celebrate her wedding. The whole village sees this visit as an opportunity and hopes to extract millions from the old lady. But everything doesn’t go according to plan and Claire provokes a real manhunt in Güllen: she will offer a billion if someone kills Alfred Ill.
