Jardins des souvenirs

Jean-Paul Guinnard’s photographic project consisted of working on polluted sites, and photographing them in a documentary way. The starting point was to look at the maps on the canton of Fribourg’s mapping portal. Under the ‘Environment’ tab, topographical maps identify all the polluted sites in the region. On these maps you can see some coloured spots, somewhat reminiscent of age spots, that indicate the presence of different sites and the measures to be taken. He wanted to show and interpret what emanates from below the ground, to question our relationship with the visible.

The Aerocharribang has created a soundscape, mixing sound recordings made in the ground using a recorder equipped with a microphone planted in the place where the photos were taken with musical elements and a recited text. The resulting sound is broadcast during the exhibition of the photos (Arles Festival 2022).
